Interventional radiology
Interventional radiology uses imaging inside the body to diagnose and/or treat a range of medical conditions. These images can be ultrasounds, CTs, X-rays, etc.
Assuta provides interventional radiology services for:
-
Performing cancer biopsies
-
Implanting catheters for prolonged vein access such as port implantations or PICC -peripherally inserted central catheter) line insertions
-
Providing access to treat cancerous tumors using ablation or embolization in hard-to-reach areas
-
Treating liver or gallbladder diseases, including cancer of the liver – both primary and metastasized cancer
-
Delivering care to patients undergoing dialysis or patients with urinary system or kidney disease
-
Diagnosing and treating blood vessel conditions
-
Caring for coronary artery disease: clogged arteries or blood vessels
Interventional radiology reduces recovery time, pain and also risks to patients who would otherwise need a traditional open surgery.
